Who We Are
Family Services, Inc. (FSI) was originally founded in 1908 with the goal of alleviating human suffering in Montgomery County, Maryland. For over a century, the nonprofit organization has grown to include various social service programs to care for the most vulnerable county residents. FSI's mission is to promote the resilience, recovery, an independence of individuals and families across the lifespan through integrated mental and physical health, social service, and education programs, thereby strengthening communities. FSI works with over 27,000 individuals, children and families each year with a staff of over 400 that proudly represents more than 50 countries and speak 42 different languages.
What We Do
Family Services, Inc. (FSI) provides a range of diverse services which relieve and prevent suffering or otherwise provide community benefits and fill critical community needs. With over 37 different programs and services located throughout the county, FSI provides prevention, early intervention, treatment, extended care, and community support activities. FSI offers: 1) integrated behavioral and somatic healthcare activities, 2) services to at-risk children and families in need, 3) victim and domestic violence intervention, and 4) community support services.
